Her pacing, as well, comes off as intuitively flowing. \u2026 the natural ease of her technique\u2026 is so unforced that it is actually much more astonishing than a casual listening might indicate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis is poetic piano playing, and I very much look forward to hearing more from Chi-Chen Wu.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"item-separator\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"leading-3\">\n<div class=\"contentpaneopen_heading\">\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/ccwpiano.com\/old\/portal\/press\/284-gapplegate-classical-modern-music-review-october-2017.html\">Gapplegate Classical-Modern Music Review<\/a><\/h2>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>\u201cI would venture to say that this disk is an example of Schumann&#8217;s Schumann. It very much zeroes in on the notes themselves, singingly and surgingly\u2026.\u201d &#8220;&#8230;Wu gives us a very focused vision of Schumann by getting everything exactly right\u2026&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c\u2026[her renditions] are poised, balanced, emotive, but precise.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c\u2026it shows us [that] Chi-Chen Wu [is a] powerful yet centered pianist devoting great care to bringing alive the music. \u2026 It brings us out of Van Cliburnian-Liberace-esque showmanship, brings us closer to the source.
